At Yiatta, we do more than interpret—we connect.
Yiatta was born out of the deep conviction that no one should be misunderstood—especially in high-stakes legal and immigration matters. Our name means “divine presence,” and we carry that meaning into every space we enter as interpreters.
Whether you're a newcomer navigating complex systems, a service provider supporting a diverse population, or a legal professional in need of accurate interpretation, we walk with you — with integrity, confidentiality, and compassion.
Our Story
We began over 25 years ago in Haiti, as Makaya Translation Services, working to bridge communication in education, health, and justice systems. After witnessing firsthand how lack of access to trusted language services can cost people their freedom—or even their lives—we chose to dedicate our careers to this cause.
Today, as Yiatta, we serve Haitian Creole speakers across North America, from asylum seekers to professionals navigating systemic challenges.
"Language isn’t just about words. It’s about power, access, and being seen.”
— Daniel Tillias, Co-Founder
Who We Are
Yiatta is powered by Tilias and a growing network of culturally fluent interpreters, rooted in the lived experience of immigrant communities, particularly Haitian Creole speakers. We've seen firsthand how language can either be a barrier or a bridge. We choose to be the bridge.
Our interpreters aren’t just bilingual — they are culturally aware, trauma-informed, and trained to meet professional standards in legal and tribunal settings.

We specialize in:
Including IRB, CBSA, tribunals, and hearings
Navigating appointments, clinics, and outreach programs.
Helping families, students, and service providers connect
Clear. Timely. Trustworthy.
Why It Matters
Language access is not a luxury. For many, it’s the difference between getting help or being left out — especially for newcomers, refugees, or families in crisis.
We bring clarity where there’s confusion. Dignity where there’s fear. Because every person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.
